Revenue seize contraband worth over €455,500 in various operations

Over the week commencing 15/12/2025, Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €455,500 in various operations in Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort.

The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and included the following:

  • 11.6 kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of €232,458.
  • 2.4 kg of butane honey oil, with an estimated value of €48,000.
  • 5 kg of cannabis resin, with an estimated value of over €30,010.
  • Various other illicit drugs, with an estimated value of over €3,630.
  • Tobacco products, with an estimated value of over €21,005, and representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €16,260.
  • Over 344.68 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of almost €3,875, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €2,300.
  • 282 counterfeit items with an estimated value of over €99,375.
  • €17,122.93 in cash.

The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dogs Ciara and Sam. The parcels originated from the USA, UK, Thailand, India, Spain, and France were destined for various addresses nationwide.

The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights. Six weapons were also seized.

Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
