Revenue seize contraband worth over €139,070 in various operations
On the week, commencing 29/12/2025, Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €139,070 in various operations in Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort.
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and included the following:
- 3.4 kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of over €54,915
- 6.1 kg of cannabis resin, with an estimated value of €36,630
- Various other illicit drugs, with an estimated value of €115
- Tobacco products, with an estimated value of over €4,645, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €3,515
- Over 368 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of over €4,685, representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €2,930
- and
- 154 counterfeit items with an estimated value of over €38,075.
The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog Ciara. The parcels originated from the USA, the UK, Canada, and France were destined for various addresses nationwide.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights. Ninety-seven weapons were also seized.
Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
