Revenue seize contraband worth over €99,000 in various operations

Over the past week, commencing 09/02/2026, Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €99,000 in various operations in Dublin, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort.

The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and included the following:

  • 0.6kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of €11,800,
  • 3.3kg of edibles, with an estimated value of over €3,300,
  • Various other illicit drugs, with an estimated value of over €10,800,
  • Tobacco products, with an estimated value of over €9,000 and representing a potential loss to the exchequer of almost €6,950,
  • Over 113 litres of alcohol with an estimated value of over €1,360 representing a potential loss to the exchequer of almost €730, and
  • 47 counterfeit items with an estimated value of €63,000.

The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dog Ciara. The parcels originated from the USA, Canada, and the Netherlands, and were destined for addresses in Dublin and Wicklow.

The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights. 

Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
