Joint operation results in drug seizure valued at approximately €125,000
On 06/03/2026, as part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 6.25kg of herbal cannabis in Co. Cavan. The illicit drugs have an estimated value of €125,000.
The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Cavan Drugs Unit and Revenue’s Customs Service in the Cavan area.
One male, aged in his 30s, was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained in a Garda Station in the Garda North Western Region under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
Investigations are ongoing.
