Revenue seize contraband worth over €94,000 in various operations
Over the week, commencing 02/03/2026, Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €94,000 in various operations in Dublin, Kilkenny, the Midlands, and Rosslare Europort.
The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and included the following:
- Tobacco products, with an estimated value of over €31,800 and representing a potential loss to the exchequer of over €24,900.
- 1.5 kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of almost €30,000.
- 17 counterfeit items with an estimated value of almost €11,700.
- Various other illicit drugs, with an estimated value of over €6,900.
- 1,134 tabs of assorted tablets, with an estimated value of over €1,890.
The herbal cannabis and illicit drug seizures were made as a result of risk profiling and with the assistance of detector dogs Sam, Ciara and Jasper. The parcels originated from the Netherlands, the UK, the USA and Canada, and were destined for various addresses nationwide.
The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights. 5,101 weapon accessories were also seized.
Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
