Joint operation results in drug seizure valued at approximately €229,000
On 09/03/2026, as part of an intelligence led operation involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), Waterford County Drugs Unit and Revenue Customs Service, 10.3 kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €207,000 was seized by Revenue Customs Officers.
Further products containing suspected THC, with an estimated market value of €22,000, were seized by An Garda Síochána in a follow-up search. One male aged in his 40s and one female aged in her 30s were arrested and are being detained in a Garda Station in Co Waterford under the provisions of Section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are ongoing.
