Revenue seize herbal cannabis worth over €1.3 million at Dublin Airport

On 21/04/2026, as a result of routine operations, and with the assistance of Revenue detector dog Charlie, Revenue officers at Dublin Airport seized 68.2 kg of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of over €1.3 million.

The herbal cannabis was discovered concealed in vacuum packed packages within the baggage of two passengers who had disembarked a flight originating from Bangkok, via Doha. Two males, aged in their 20s and 40s, were subsequently arrested by An Garda Síochána under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. Both males have since been charged in connection with the investigations and were listed to appear in court on 22/04/2026.

Investigations are ongoing.

This seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
