Revenue seize 11.4 million cigarettes at Dublin Port

On 30/04/2026, Revenue officers seized approximately 11.4 million cigarettes at Dublin Port.

The seizure was made following routine risk profiling, with the assistance of detector dog Milo and the use of Revenue’s mobile X-ray scanner. The contraband was discovered in a consignment declared as cardboard packaging, following a search of a trailer that had arrived on a vessel from Rotterdam.

The smuggled cigarettes, branded ‘Lambert & Butler Silver’, Superkings Blue’ and ‘Richmond’, have an estimated value of over €10.8 million representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €8.4 million.

Investigations are ongoing.
