Joint operation results in drug seizure valued at approximately €2 million
On 08/05/2026, as part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 100 kg of herbal cannabis in Co. Clare. The illicit drugs have an estimated value of €2 million.
This seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Revenue’s Customs Service along with the Clare Divisional Drugs Unit.
One male, aged in his 30s, was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained in a Garda Station in County Clare under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
Investigations remain ongoing.
