Joint operations result in drug seizures valued at approximately €1.2 million

On 22/05/2026, as part of an intelligence-led operation involving the Revenue Customs Service, Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Drugs Unit Crime North DMR West, approximately 20 kg of suspected herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €400,000 was seized in West Dublin. In a follow up search by An Garda Síochána, a further 20 kg of suspected herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €400,000 was seized.

One male, aged in his 30s, was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 in a Garda Station in Dublin.   

Separately, on 22/05/2026, as part of an intelligence-led operation involving the Revenue Customs Service, Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Limerick Divisional Drug Unit, approximately 22.5 kg of suspected herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €450,000 was seized in Co. Limerick. 

One male, aged in his 30s, was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 in a Garda Station in Co. Limerick. 

Investigations for all seizures remain ongoing.
