Joint operation results in drug seizure valued at approximately €4.2 million
On 26/05/2026, as part of an intelligence-led operation involving the Revenue Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Clare Divisional Drug Unit, approximately 210 kg of suspected herbal cannabis was seized in Co. Clare. The illicit drugs have an estimated value of €4.2 million.
One male, aged in his 40s, was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained in a Garda Station in Co. Clare, under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
Investigations remain ongoing.
