Joint operation results in drug seizure valued at approximately €1.6 million
On 06/07/2026, as part of an intelligence led operation involving the Revenue Customs Service, Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Cork City Divisional Drugs Unit, approximately 83.5kg of herbal cannabis was seized in Co. Cork. The illicit drugs have an estimated value of over €1.6 million.
One male, aged in his 30s, was arrested and is being detained in a Garda Station in Co. Cork under the provisions of Section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are ongoing.
