Revenue seize illicit drugs worth approximately €11.5 million at Dublin Port

Over the course of three days, from 24/07/2026 to 26/07/2026, Revenue officers at Dublin Port have seized illicit drugs worth approximately €11.5 million.

On Friday 24/07/2026, Revenue officers seized approximately 24.5 kg of cocaine with an estimated value of over €1.7 million. The cocaine was discovered as a result of routine operations, with the assistance of detector dog Darcy and Revenue’s mobile x-ray scanner, when officers searched a refrigerated container which arrived from Rotterdam.

On Saturday 25/07/2026, as part of an intelligence-led operation involving Revenue Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB), approximately 392 kg of herbal cannabis worth approximately €7.84 million was seized.

On Sunday 26/07/2026, Revenue officers seized approximately 80.5 kg of herbal cannabis and 5 kg of cocaine, with an estimated combined value of €1.95 million, along with €143,900 in cash. The illicit drugs and cash were discovered during routine operations, with the assistance of detector dog Loki and Revenue’s mobile x-ray scanner, when officers searched a truck and trailer that had arrived from Cherbourg. A male and a female were subsequently arrested by An Garda Síochána and are currently being detained at a Garda Station in Dublin.

Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.

These seizures are part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
