Summary

Sean Taaffe with an address at Readypenny, Darver Dundalk, Co. Louth, pleaded guilty to the following offences under Section 1078 Taxes Consolidation Act 1997.

• Knowingly or wilfully delivering incorrect Income Tax return for the tax period 2010, contrary to Section 1078(2) and (3) of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997 as amended by Section 211 in the Finance Act 1999.
• Knowingly or wilfully delivering incorrect Income Tax return for the tax period 2011, contrary to Section 1078(2) and (3) of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997 as amended by Section 211 in the Finance Act 1999.
• Knowingly or wilfully delivering incorrect Income Tax return for the tax period 2013, contrary to Section 1078(2) and (3) of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997 as amended by Section 211 in the Finance Act 1999.

 Outcome

On the 18 April 2023 at Dundalk Circuit Court, Judge Hayes sentenced the said Accused to perform 180 hours Community Service under Probation Service supervision within 18 months of this date in lieu of a sentence of 12 months imprisonment.
