New Computerised Transit System – Phase 6 (NCTS P6)
The next phase of the transit system NCTS-P6 must be deployed in all Member States by 1 September 2025. NCTS-P6 ensures our electronic transit declaration system meets the legal requirements legislated for in the Union Customs Code (UCC).
Revenue is making internal changes to NCTS-P5 to align it with NCTS-P6 from 1 September 2025. This will not result in changes for traders and their software systems.
In our NCTS-P6 system (similar to our NCTS-P5 system), it is not possible to include Entry Summary Declaration (ENS) safety and security data in the transit declaration. A separate ENS must be lodged in the Import Control System (ICS).
We will make further New Computerised Transit System (NCTS) updates bringing the system in line with the latest European Union (EU) specifications in March 2026 to ensure continued full compatibility. Traders will need to update their systems in March 2026 to align with these updates.
From 24 March 2026, if you wish to submit transit declarations in NCTS-P6, your system must be compatible with the NCTS-P6 specifications.
