View and claim for the Home Renovation Incentive (HRI) – home owners

The HRI homeowner service allows you to view and to claim HRI tax credits for certain works done on your Principal Private Residence (PPR).

If you are a landlord, you can claim HRI tax credits for your rented properties. To do this, you need to have paid your Local Property Tax (LPT).

Who is the service for?

This service is suitable for you if you are a Pay As You Earn (PAYE) taxpayer or a self-assessed taxpayer. You need to have met your LPT obligations.

What you need to use the service

To use the service, you will need the details of:

  • the works that have been completed
  • the works that you wish to claim for
  • any grants and compensation received in relation to these works.

How to access the HRI homeowner service

You can access the service through myAccount, by following these steps:

  • Sign into myAccount
  • Click 'Home Renovation Incentive' on the 'Property Services' card
  • Click on the 'Claims' tab to claim your tax credit after the end of the year in which work is paid for.

Note

The Home Renovation Incentive tab will only be visible to you if you are registered for LPT.

You can access the service through the Revenue Online Service (ROS), by following these steps:

  • Sign into ROS
  • In the 'Other Services' section access the 'Home Renovation Incentive (Homeowner) tab
  • Click on the 'Claims' tab to claim your tax credit after the end of the year in which work is paid for.

The Home Renovation Incentive tab will only be visible to you if you are registered for LPT.
