File a Mineral Oil Tax (MOT) e-repayment claim

The MOT e-repayments service allows you to apply online for certain MOT reliefs. You must be registered for MOT on the Revenue Online Service (ROS) to use this service.

Who is the service for?

This service is suitable for you if you wish to file a repayment claim for the following MOT reliefs:

  • MOT on Heavy Oil & Liquefied Petroleum Gas used in Horticultural Production and the Cultivation of Mushrooms. This can be done using the online Form 1130.
  • MOT on Fuel Used for Commercial Sea Navigation. This can be done using the online Form 1131.
  • MOT on Fuel Supplied for Commercial Sea Navigation. This can be done using the online Form 1132.
  • MOT on aviation gasoline used for commercial or business air navigation. This can be done using the online Form PPF2.
  • MOT carbon charge by greenhouse gas emissions permit holders.This can be done using the online Form CC_Rep. You must hold a Greenhouse Gas Emissions Permit to be eligible to file a CC_Rep claim.

What you need to use the service

For the 1130 claim you will need the:

  • claim period (mm/year)
  • supplier VAT number
  • volume of litres claimed.

For the 1131 claim you will need the:

  • claim period (mm/year)
  • supplier VAT number
  • volume of litres claimed.

For the 1132 claim you will need the:

  • claim period (mm/year)
  • boat name(s) or registration number(s)
  • volume of litres claimed.

For the PPF2 claim you will need the:

  • claim period (mm/year)
  • volume of litres claimed
  • claim details spreadsheet and invoices (for upload). 

For the CC_Rep claim you will need the:

  • claim period (mm/year)
  • supplier VAT number
  • volume of litres claimed
  • Greenhouse Gas Emissions Permit and invoices (for upload).

How to access the service

If you are registered for ROS, you can access this service by following these steps:

  • Click on the ‘Other Services’ section in the ‘My Services’ area of ROS
  • Click on the 'e-Repayment Claims' card.
