What is the LPT online filing service?

LPT is an annual self-assessed tax charged on the market value of all residential properties in Ireland. This service allows you to file and pay your LPT liability online. It also allows you to manage any Household Charge arrears. 

Who is the LPT filing service for?

The LPT service is suitable for you if you:

  • own a residential property in Ireland
  • are an agent or individual acting on behalf of the owner of a property in Ireland.

Information needed to file a LPT return online

  • the liable person's PPSN or tax reference number
  • the unique property ID
  • the secure PIN[1]. 

How to access the LPT filing service  

If you are accessing this service via LPT online, the service is available by following these steps:

  • enter your PPSN, property ID and property PIN and click 'Login'
  • click 'File LPT return' in the 'Step1' pod
  • fill out all the return details requested and click 'Continue'.

If you are accessing this service via myAccount, the service is available by following these steps:

  • Click 'Local Property Tax (LPT)' on the 'Property Services' card.
  • Select 'File LPT return' in the 'Step1' options.
  • Fill out all the return details requested and click 'Continue'. 

If you are accessing this service via ROS, the service is available by following these steps:

  • Click on the 'View Property List' button in the Local Property Tax card.
  • Click on the property ID.
  • Click 'File LPT return' in the 'Step1' pod.
  • Fill out all the return details requested and click 'Continue'.

[1] The property ID/PIN will have been issued by post to the address on file for the liable person’s PPSN/tax reference number.
