Electronic Certificate of Conformity (e-CoC) for Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT)
What is the e-CoC service?
This is an online service that enables you to upload or manually input a Certificate of Conformity for your vehicle. You can also search for or amend an existing Certificate.
Vehicle manufacturers produce a unique Certificate of Conformity for every vehicle they make. It shows the type approval data plus the individual vehicle data that relates to the vehicle.
Since 12 September 2016, all new motor vehicles (that is, vehicles not previously registered) presented for registration are legally required to have an e-CoC uploaded to Revenue prior to the registration of the vehicle.
Who is the service for?
This service is for individuals and registered business users. You must be registered for either myAccount or the Revenue Online Service (ROS) to use the e-CoC service.
Business users have the option to bulk upload registrations through ROS.
What you need to use the service
Registered business users submitting a CoC through ROS will require:
