Stamp Duty Insurance Levies (SDIL) January 2022 filings - updated SDIL Forms available

Levies on certain premiums of insurance (non-life) and contributions to insurance compensation fund January 2022 filings – updated Form SDCA125 available

A new version of Form SDCA125 is now available on the Revenue website in the Related Forms panel.

Insurers returning statement of assessable amounts for the quarter ended 31 December 2021 are required to file this updated Form SDCA125 on or before 25 January 2022, as provided by Section 125 SDCA 1999.

The Form SDCA125 has been updated as follows:

  • The following additional fields have been inserted: Irish Tax Reference Number; VAT Registration Number in Country of Incorporation and additional contact details for Contact Name; E-mail; Telephone and Agent TAIN.
  • The Section 125 Duty fields in respect of pre 8 April 2009 premium details have been removed.
  • An additional excluded amount field (d) for captive insurance premiums has been included in the Section 6 Contribution panel.
  • The Payment Options notes have been updated with the removal of the cheque or banker’s draft payment option.

The Notes tab has been updated and expanded to clarify that -

  • Excluded amounts for Section 6 Contributions includes Captive Insurance Premiums.
  • No interest is chargeable on the late payment of Section 6 contributions. 

 

Policies of insurance (non-life) January 2022 filings – updated Policies of insurance (non-life) Form available

A new version of Policies of insurance (non-life) Form is now available on the Revenue website in the Related Forms panel.

Insurers returning stamp duty on policies of insurance (non-life)-payment under composition agreement, Section 5, SDCA 1999 for the quarter ended 31 December 2021 are required to file this updated Policies of insurance (non-life) Form on or before 25 January 2022.

The Policies of insurance (non-life) Form has been updated as follows:

  • The following additional fields have been inserted: Irish Tax Reference Number; Business Address; VAT Registration Number in Country of Incorporation and additional contact details for Contact Name; E-mail; Telephone and Agent TAIN.

A Payment Options tab has been inserted providing guidance on Electronic Fund Transfers.

A Notes tab has been inserted providing guidance on -

  • Meaning of Policy of Insurance.
  • Due dates for payment and filing of returns.
  • Interest on late payments. 

 

Levy on certain life assurance premiums January 2022 filings – updated Form SDCA124B available

A new version of Form SDCA124B is now available on the Revenue website in the Related Forms panel.

Insurers returning statement of assessable amounts for the quarter ended 31 December 2021 are required to file this updated Form SDCA124B on or before 25 January 2022, as provided by Section 124B SDCA 1999.

The Form SDCA124B has been updated as follows:

  • The following additional fields have been inserted: Business Address: VAT Registration Number in Country of Incorporation and additional contact details for Contact Name; E-mail; Telephone and Agent TAIN.
  • The Payment Options notes have been updated with the removal of the cheque or banker’s draft payment option.

The Notes tab has been updated and expanded to clarify that -

  • Statement must be submitted electronically via Transport Layer Security enabled email or via MyEnquiries using proscribed information tags.
