Mineral Oil Tax rate reductions from 15 April 2026 and postponement of 1 May 2026 carbon tax rate increases
The Tax and Duty Manual on Excise Duty Rates on Energy Products and Electricity Taxes Manual has been updated to reflect:
- further temporary reductions to Mineral Oil Tax rates on petrol, auto-diesel, marked gas oil, and their substitutes, effective from 15 April 2026, and
- the postponement until 14 October 2026 of carbon tax increases that had been due to come into effect on 1 May 2026.
