Summary
On 1 February 2022, Philip Rochford with an address of 12 Corn Lodge, Castlebridge, Co. Wexford, pleaded guilty to the following offences under Section 1078 of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997:
- Failure to file an Income Tax return for 2016 Subsection 2(g)(i).
- Failure to file a VAT return for the VAT period March/April 2016 Subsection 2(g)(i).
- Failure to file a VAT return for the VAT period May/June 2016 Subsection 2(g)(i).
- Failure to remit VAT for the VAT period March/April 2016 Subsection 2(i).
- Failure to remit VAT for the VAT period May/June 2016 Subsection 2(i).
Outcome
On 27 March 2023 in Court 5 of the Criminal Courts of Justice Dublin, Judge Martin Nolan sentenced Philip Rochford to 2 years for Count 2 “failure to file an Income Tax return for 2016”. All other charges were taken into account. Judge Nolan suspended the sentence for 2 years on a bond of €100.
