Passenger Vessel Licence

The waiver of Excise Duty on on-trade liquor licences will not be extended to renewals in 2022.
The holder of a Passenger Vessel Licence may sell alcohol to passengers for consumption on their ship or boat. This licence applies to a vessel used to carry and convey passengers from:
- any place in Ireland to another place in Ireland
- any place in Ireland and returning to the same place on the same day.
There are two types of licence:
- annual licence
- day licence.
The annual licensing period is from 1 October to 30 September. This licence will expire on 30 September each year regardless of the issue date.
The cost for the Annual Licence is €500 each year.
The cost for the Day Licence is €50.
