This policy describes how Revenue uses LinkedIn.
Revenue’s LinkedIn objectives are:
- to share Revenue news and general information using accessible channels of communication
- to increase awareness of entitlements and obligations
- and
- to increase awareness of Revenue matters in general.
We may also highlight education, public value and community stories that show how our work benefits society and the economy. We are committed to the use of plain Irish and English standards.
Content
If you follow the Revenue LinkedIn page, you can expect regular posts relating to Revenue matters including:
- news and press releases
- publications
- tax updates
- publicity campaigns.
We may also feature:
- corporate updates
- links to policy and guidance
- events, outreach and partnerships
- procurement notices
- recruitment information (with appropriate links).
Privacy and security
Revenue’s LinkedIn page is hosted by LinkedIn. Please read LinkedIn’s privacy policy. Your participation is at your own risk, and you are responsible for your posts. Avoid posting personal information like Personal Public Service Numbers, email addresses, bank details and details of financial affairs.
Revenue does not discuss individual taxpayers' tax affairs on LinkedIn and does not accept notifications through posts or messages. We will never ask for personal or payment information via social media. If you receive suspicious messages, do not respond.

We do not monitor or respond to comments and messages. LinkedIn is not a service or support channel. For information or assistance:
Moderation
When we become aware of content that breaches the following criteria, we may restrict, hide or remove it. We may also block or report accounts that breach these criteria, and we may disable comments on specific posts where appropriate. This may include content that is:
- unlawful, defamatory, misleading or threatening
- disclosing personal, confidential or sensitive information
- harassing, hateful, discriminatory or inciting violence
- misinformation that risks public compliance, safety or the integrity of our operations
- spam, repetitive posting, commercial advertising or solicitation
- political campaigning or lobbying.
Followers
If you follow the Revenue page on LinkedIn, we may not automatically return the follow. Our decision to follow an account does not imply endorsement by Revenue. We will remove or block a follower if that follower posts inappropriate or offensive material. Revenue’s engagement through likes, shares or mentions does not constitute endorsement.
Recruitment
Recruitment posts on LinkedIn will link to the official competition information on revenue.ie. We do not accept applications, CVs or queries about individual competitions through LinkedIn messages or comments.
Staff posts and representation
Official Revenue positions are communicated through the Revenue LinkedIn page and other official channels on revenue.ie. Posts made by individuals identifying as Revenue staff on their personal accounts reflect their own views and do not represent Revenue.
