Registered Exporters System (REX)
The REX system provides for certification of origin on imports into the European Union (EU) from certain countries under the Generalised System of Preference (GSP). It also provides for the certification of origin on preferential origin exports from the EU under preferential agreements with the UK, Canada Japan and Vietnam.
It allows a registered exporter to certify preferential origin. This is done by including a specific declaration on the invoice or another commercial document identifying the exported products.
If your consignment has a value of below €6,000, the statement on origin can be made with no obligation to be registered.
The GSP beneficiary countries apply the REX system. For details see the Registered Exporters System.
If you are importing from a registered exporter under GSP, you should verify the REX number on the REX database.
