AIS Revised Annex B and Centralised Clearance Phase 1 and Phase 2

How to prepare your business for changes

Customs Software

Submission of messages into Revenue’s AIS and CCI can be done either:

  • through your own internally developed and supported customs software
  • or
  • through software provided by an external systems provider.

It is important to be familiar with the following:

  • content and structure of the new declarations, including the new data elements
  • new message types and code lists
  • new message numbers
  • and
  • new formats for existing messages.

If you employ a customs agent to manage your customs formalities, you should ensure that the software your agent uses can interface with AIS and CCI.

Key message

As a trader, you should start your preparations early in order to be ready for June 2024 when these systems go live. When the specifications are published, you should engage with your software provider, whether internal or external. Software providers should engage with our Public Interface Test (PIT) environment as early as possible once it is made available in January 2024.
