Paying the Duty

You should keep records to support the Stamp Duty return you filed, including any exemptions or reliefs you claimed. You should keep records for a period of six years from the date you:

  • filed your Stamp Duty return
  • or
  • paid the Stamp Duty due

whichever is the later date.

Revenue may ask to see these records.
