Proof of Union Status (PoUS) System
Introduction of new electronic means of proving union status
The Union Customs Code (UCC) requires all customs exchanges of information be made electronically. The European Commission is launching an electronic PoUS system to achieve this requirement.
The PoUS system will be implemented in two phases:
On 1 March 2024 the first phase will go live for traders using T2Ls and T2LFs to prove Union status of goods. It will be mandatory to apply electronically through the PoUS system if you are using a T2L or T2LF.
The second phase is planned to go live in August 2025 and covers the Customs Goods Manifest for maritime transport.
