Centralised clearance

What centralised clearance allows you to do

If you are authorised for centralised clearance, you may:

  • lodge your Customs declarations with the Customs authority in one Member State (the supervising Member State)
  • present the goods physically in another Member State (the participating Member State)
  • and
  • centralise your Customs compliance processes (including accounting for Customs Duty) in the supervising Member State.

This allows businesses operating across multiple Member States to simplify and standardise their Customs procedures. Customs controls can still take place where the goods are physically located.
