Amusement Machine Licence
Overview
An operator of an amusement machine(s) is required to hold an annual Amusement Machine Permit.
The licensing year is from 1 July to 30 June. The cost of an Amusement Machine Permit is €100 each year.
In addition to holding an Amusement Machine Permit, each amusement machine must hold an Amusement Machine Licence.
Each Amusement Machine Licence must be visibly displayed on the machine.
There are two types of Amusement Machine Licence:
- An annual licence
- A high season licence (not more than three months duration and expires on 31 August).
Each annual Amusement Machine Licence costs €125.
Each high season Amusement Machine Licence costs €38.
It is an offence to operate a gaming machine under an Amusement Machine Permit. If you are operating a gaming machine, you must hold a Gaming Licence.
