Customs Channel Look-up

The RoRo service will identify possible customs interventions during the ferry crossing to Ireland from Great Britain. These interventions will be based on the Master Reference Numbers (MRN's) submitted in the PBN.

To streamline the clearance process where a customs or state agencies intervention is required, the RoRo service will:

• provide real time information on such interventions to any party in the supply chain
• process import documents requested from the Importer as part of these interventions
• and
• confirm the status of the routing assigned to the consignment.

The Customs Channel Look-up facility can be accessed 30 minutes before arrival into the Irish Port. You can access this facility on the RoRo service by selecting 'Customs Channel Look-Up'. The service should be checked regularly for any change in the status of the goods consignment.

Note:

Communication of vehicle channel: When creating a PBN for an inbound journey into Ireland, the user has the option to input contact details. The user can enter two mobile phone numbers and an email address. 30 minutes before arrival of the vessel into Ireland, when the vehicle channel becomes available, Revenue will automatically issue the channel information to the contact details provided.

You will receive one of the following Customs Channels:

Exit the Port

Follow the signs directing you straight out of the Port. There is no need to call to customs.

Call to Customs

Follow the relevant signs directing you to the customs terminal and check in using the RoRo service.

Call to Customs - Transit

Follow the relevant signs directing you to the transit lanes.

Call to Customs - Seal

For trucks that require a seal check - You must follow the signs directing you to the seal check lanes.

Live animals BCP

Follow the signs directing you to the dedicated live animal's terminal.

Please note

Drivers of vehicles containing goods should not exit from the Port without clearance from Customs.

Failure to comply is a criminal offence, punishable by a fine of €5,000 and or imprisonment for a term of up to 12 months.
