Revenue seize tobacco worth over €2.4 million at Dublin Port
On Tuesday (20/7/2021), as a result of routine profiling, Revenue officers seized over 4 tonnes of raw tobacco at Dublin Port. The smuggled tobacco, with an estimated retail value of over €2.4 million, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of approximately €2 million, was discovered concealed in boxes labelled as ‘printing paper’ which had originated in Germany.
Investigations are ongoing.
