Revenue seize herbal cannabis worth €160,000 in Skerries, Dublin
Today (01/12/2021), as part of an intelligence led operation, Revenue officers seized 8kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €160,000, following the search of a premises, under warrant, in the Skerries area of North County Dublin.
The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and DMR Balbriggan Divisional Drugs Unit.
Two men, one in his 30's and the other in his 40's, were arrested by An Garda Síochána in connection with this seizure. Both are currently detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Balbriggan Garda Station. Investigations are ongoing.
This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
