Revenue seize herbal cannabis worth €200,000 in Limerick
Today (01/03/2023), as part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 10kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €200,000 in Limerick.
The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit.
A man in his twenties was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Henry Street Garda Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
This operation was part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
