Revenue seize herbal cannabis worth approximately €363,000 in Dublin

Last week (10-12 May 2023), as part of intelligence-led operations, Revenue officers seized approximately 18.1kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €363,000 in North Dublin.

The discoveries were made following the searches of residential premises in the Dublin North region.

These seizures were made as a result of joint operations involving Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Garda District Drug Units attached to Ballymun, Balbriggan and Coolock Garda Stations.

As part of these operations, Gardaí arrested three individuals.

On Wednesday (10/05/2023), a man in his 20s was arrested. He has since been charged and is now before the courts.

 On Friday (12/05/2023), a man and woman in their 30s were arrested by An Garda Síochána and both are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in the Dublin North region.

Investigations are ongoing.

These operations are part of Revenue’s ongoing joint investigations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
