Revenue seize herbal cannabis worth almost €886,000 at Dublin Airport

Over the course of the past week, Revenue officers at Dublin Airport seized approximately 44.3 kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €885,800 in two separate seizures.

On Thursday (24/04/2025), as a result of an intelligence led operation, Revenue officers made a seizure of herbal cannabis weighing approximately 21.5 kgs. It has an estimated value of €430,800.

The cannabis was discovered concealed in vacuum packed packages within the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight originating from Thailand.  A male in his 20s was subsequently arrested by An Garda Síochána in relation to the seizure and has since appeared before the courts.

On Saturday (26/04/2025), as a result of risk profiling, Revenue officers made a seizure of herbal cannabis weighing approximately 22.8kgs.  It has an estimated value of €455,000.

The cannabis was discovered concealed in vacuum packed packages within the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight originating in Canada.  A male in his 20s was subsequently arrested by An Garda Síochána in relation to the seizure and has since appeared before the courts.

This seizure is part of Revenue's ongoing operations targeting organised crime groups and the importation, sale and supply of illegal drugs.
