Revenue seize illicit drugs worth over €950,000 at Dublin Airport
On Sunday 09/08/2026, as a result of an indication from Revenue detector dog Charlie, Revenue officers at Dublin Airport seized approximately 29 kg of herbal cannabis and approximately 6 kg of crystal methamphetamine. The cannabis has an estimated value of over €584,000 and the crystal methamphetamine has an estimated value of over €368,000.
The illicit drugs were discovered concealed in vacuum packed packages within the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight originating in Canada. One female, aged in her 50s, was subsequently arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Dublin Garda Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
