Revenue seize contraband worth over €176,900 in various operations

Over 14 days, commencing 27/07/2026, Revenue officers seized contraband with an estimated value of over €176,900 in various operations in Dublin, the Midlands and Rosslare Europort.

The detections were made as a result of risk profiling and intelligence led operations, and included the following

  • 3.8kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of over €76,400
  • 184 counterfeit items, with an estimated value of €28,200
  • Various illicit drugs, with an estimated value of over €25,900
  • 1kg of Butane Honey Oil, with an estimated value of over €20,600
  • Tobacco products, with an estimated value of over €10,800, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €8,000
  • Over 289 litres of alcohol, with an estimated value of over €7,200, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of over €5,200
  • and
  • 1kg of cannabis resin, with an estimated value of over €6,300.

The herbal cannabis and illicit drugs seizures were made as a result of risk profiling with the assistance of detector dogs Sam and Ciara. The parcels originated from the Netherlands, the USA, the UK, Canada, Thailand, Spain, Switzerland and India, and were destined for various addresses nationwide.

The counterfeit goods were seized as they were confirmed by the Rights Holder to have infringed on Intellectual Property Rights. One hundred and fifteen weapons accessories were also seized.

Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
