Revenue seize herbal cannabis and shisha tobacco valued at approximately €484,400

Over the past few days, as a result of routine risk profiling, Revenue officers from Dublin Port seized approximately 22 kg of herbal cannabis and 43 kg of shisha tobacco while examining parcels at a premises in Dublin.

The seizures, which were made across five separate detections, were assisted by detector dog Milo. The illicit drugs and tobacco have a combined value of approximately €484,400. The seized shisha tobacco represents a potential loss to the Exchequer of more than €32,400.

The parcels originated in Spain and Belgium and were destined for addresses in the Leinster and Munster regions.

Investigations into all seizures are ongoing.
