Joint operation results in drug seizures valued at over €161,000
On 22/09/2026, as part of an intelligence-led operation involving Revenue Customs officers, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and both Meath and Westmeath Divisional Drugs Units, a total of 11.5 kg of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of €161,000, was seized by Revenue Customs officers in two separate locations in Co. Meath.
One male, aged in his 20s, was arrested and detained in a Garda station in Co. Meath under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, in relation to a seizure of 5.7 kg of cannabis herb. He was subsequently charged and released to appear at Trim District Court at a later date.
One female, aged in her 20s, was arrested and detained in a Garda Station in Co. Meath under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, in relation to a seizure of 5.8 kg of cannabis herb. She was subsequently charged and released to appear at Trim District Court at a later date.
Investigations are ongoing.
