Revenue seizes €80,000 cash in Dublin Port

Today (06/09/2019) at Dublin District Court, Revenue officers were granted a three month cash detention order by Judge Bryan Smyth. This followed the seizure yesterday (05/09/2019) of €36,750 Euro and £40,000 GBP in Dublin Port.

The cash was discovered following routine examinations of vehicles travelling from Holyhead. Revenue detector dog James showed an interest in a particular vehicle which was stopped and searched by Revenue officers. The search resulted in the discovery of three packages containing cash concealed underneath the bonnet of the vehicle.

Investigations are ongoing.
